Quan Amunifu Walker has been a graphic designer and owner of her own business for approximately the last 20 years. Her introduction into the creative arts began after her graduation from the famed Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.), in New York City where she received an Associates Degree in Textile Design. She then worked for the New York City design house of Fisher and Gentile, Ltd. where she developed her textile design and colorist skills. The design house was associated with an affiliate firm in Paris and Quan was exposed to a wide variety of design projects.
When she and her husband relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area Quan decided to switch her career focus from textile design and into the exciting and expanding field of graphic design. In 1980 she established Quan Designs as a full service graphic design provider to small business clients in the public and private sectors. Many of her early clients who remain with her to this day were community based organizations such as Catholic Charities, East Bay Hospice and The Black Families Association of Central Contra Costa County. Over the years Quan has created a wide variety of designs for company logos, business cards, stationary, brochure, marketing and promotional packages, as well as posters, illustrations and related design projects.
Quan Designs has evolved into a multi-faceted design firm, with capabilities of providing its customers assistance with their complete project needs, from design inception, project planning and budgeting, through finished product. Pacific Bell Yellow Pages as well as several domestic and international manufacturing firms are part of Quan Designs’ growing customer base. Quan incorporates a unique total quality management approach to each design project, enabling Quan Designs to consistently complete assignments in a timely manner, within customer specifications and budget constraints. The company’s success with this approach, as well as Quan’s individual design capabilities has led to Quan Design’s being awarded the coveted VALUE STAR certification in both 1995 and 1996!
