Mr. Mangatal has had 4 years experience working in a computer services environment at Fiscal Services (EDP) Ltd., Jamaica. For the first part of
this period, he was responsible for auditing the security of the company's computer networks/systems. During the later part, he was put in
charge of the company's System Management unit and was responsible for software and network installations, upgrades and maintenance.
Whereas his major priority was ensuring the connectivity of the company's centralized VAX/VMS mainframe system and associated wide
area network, he was also responsible for installing and managing Unix and Novell systems and networks.
Mr. Mangatal has also had 2 years experience as an Operations Engineer at the Caribbean Cement Company in Jamaica where he was responsible
for ensuring the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. He worked with The Howard University Computer Learning
Center as a Lab Assistant for the summer of 1995 and is currently working with the Information Systems Department at Howard University as a
Research Assistant.
In addition to his academic and work life, Mr. Mangatal is an active sportsman. He was captain of his high school's Cricket and Table Tennis
teams, Captain of the Caribbean Cement Company's Table Tennis team, President of Fiscal Services Sports Club and he currently plays Cricket,
Table Tennis and Lawn Tennis in Maryland.
David Mangatal was born in Kingston, Jamaica on the fourth of January, 1966. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer
Engineering from the University of the West Indies Trinidad and is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at Howard
University.
