Diego Maradona

Diego Armando Maradona

Diego Armando Maradona in the slums of Villa Florito in Argentina on October 30 1960. Diego's soccer career started at Argentinos Juniors followed by Boca Juniors before going on to star for his national team Argentina. In 1984 Maradona was signed to the great Napoli club. It was not long before his great abilities enabled his club to bring home Copia Italia Championship (1987),and the UEFA Cup (1989). Ever since The World Cup in Mexico I believe it would be a fair statement to call Maradona the best and imaginative soccer player in the world. Evidence of his creativity will always be remembered with the goal that was labeled in the news papers "The Hand of God." As if that wasn't enough to talk about, Maradona then went on to dribble five English players to score what some believe to be the greatest goal ever. All this in one world Cup was enough to make this world Cup one of the best ever as well as to put the name Maradona in every soccer household's conversation.

Years to follow Diego's career went down hill because of his affiliation with drugs. Drugs aside, Diego Maradona's prime soccer days made him one of the best players in the world.
