I have been living in U.S.A. (California) permanently since March of 1993. I made the decision to move here permanently because my husband (boyfriend at the time) was living here. I have one child, a 12 year old girl and been married since August 1993. I am a Legal Secretary in a family law firm (soon to start a new job in a Palo Alto law firm), and have been a legal secretary since 1989. |
| I am the new secretary for the Jamaica Association of Northern California. We are a nonprofit organization and do fundraisers, parties, etc. We also have a yearly scholarship fund to Jamaicans living in Jamaica or abroad who are full-time students in secondary schools or colleges. | We also host an annual independence day dinner/dance, Christmas dinner/dance, Easter Egg Hunt for the children, 4th of July picnic, various games nights, and other various fundraisers throughout the year. We also have a medical fundraiser every year to raise funds to purchase medical equipment and supplies to be sent to Jamaica. |
I was born of Jamaican parents in Manchester, England. Left England when I was 8 years old to reside in Jamaica. I lived in Jamaica ever since until I came to California. My husband is also Jamaican.
